Assault & Weapons Charges

Serious Defense for Weapon Charges

It is important to understand just how serious an assault charge can be. If a weapon is used, the consequences can be grave. Use of a weapon while committing any felony carries a mandatory minimum sentence of five years in Nebraska. The sentence must run consecutively to any other sentence. This means that you do not start your sentence for the weapons charge until after you have completed your underlying felony sentence.

The maximum sentence is 50 years.

At Dunn & Stockmann, our criminal defense lawyers have extensive experience representing people charged with assault and use of a weapon. Pat Dunn is a former prosecutor and understands how the other side thinks. Dan Stockmann has focused on criminal defense for his entire legal career. Together, our attorneys get the job done.
